Matmagasinet in Stavanger

Matmagasinet in Stavanger

When Elise Rødland moved Matmagasinet into the newly renovated canning factory close to the royal residence in Stavanger, she acquired 500 square meters to run the cafe, restaurant and catering business — while also hosting weddings and other events.

When choosing their technology partner, it was important for Matmagasinet that their POS could make everyday operations more efficient and to be able to synchronise the POS with their accounting software.

Several locations – same access

Matmagasinet also manages the café at Stavanger Art Museum, so it was essential to simplify their common menu items, guest and gift card registry.

Munu Cloud gives managers easy access to both locations in the same system, saving time and streamlining the workflow.

Order and pay on smartphones

During the summer of 2020, Matmagasinet implemented the Munu self-service ordering module – reducing interactions with staff and allowing guests to order and pay for food and drink orders while sitting at the table in a safe and efficient way. Staff only have to bring the orders to the table.

With the self-service module being fully integrated into the Munu ecosystem, every order placed on a mobile device is automatically converted to a paid order with the correct payment type, simplifying the settlement. When everything is connected, everything runs more smoothly.

Fixed and mobile POS’

The hardware solution consists of three POS’ with linked payment terminals and ticket printers. For the outdoor section, staff can use mobile POS‘ linked to the fixed POS’, allowing staff to quickly submit food and drinks orders wirelessly to the bar and kitchen.
