Statement on the Norwegian Transparency Act – Munu AS

Published: June 12th 2025

About the Transparency Act

The Norwegian Transparency Act (Åpenhetsloven) entered into force on 1 July 2022. The purpose of the Act is to promote businesses’ respect for fundamental human rights and decent working conditions in their supply chains and with their business partners. The Act also aims to ensure public access to information on how companies address these issues.

Munu’s Business

Munu delivers software and hardware solutions (POS – Point of Sale) to customers in the hospitality sector across Norway and the Nordic region. We collaborate with a range of suppliers within technology, hardware, logistics, and installation.

Munu’s head office is located in Stavanger, Norway.

Our Commitment under the Transparency Act

1. Embedded in Governing Documents

Respect for human rights and decent working conditions is embedded in our ethical guidelines and procurement procedures. The Board of Directors and executive management are informed about the requirements of the Transparency Act and oversee its implementation as part of our responsible business practices.

2. Due Diligence Assessments

We have initiated a systematic review of our suppliers and business partners. This includes:

  • Mapping our supply chain
  • Assessing the risk of human rights violations and poor working conditions
  • Engaging in dialogue with selected suppliers where needed
  • Ongoing evaluation of necessary actions and follow-up

In accordance with OECD Guidelines, our due diligence assessments are carried out as an ongoing process.
We have identified particular risks related to hardware production in Asia and the use of subcontracted transport providers, where we have limited direct influence.

3. Addressing Actual and Potential Adverse Impacts

If we identify risk of unacceptable conditions, we will engage with the relevant supplier and evaluate appropriate measures — including termination of the business relationship if necessary improvements are not made.

4. Transparency and the Right to Information

The public has the right to request information on how we handle actual and potential adverse impacts. We respond to written information requests within the legal deadline of three weeks.

Requests can be sent to:
📧 post@munu.cloud

5. Results

As of today, we have not identified any actual breaches of human rights or decent working conditions among our suppliers. Some suppliers who have not yet responded to our requests are temporarily assessed as medium risk and will be followed up accordingly.
